By placing an order with Travelers Rest Mulch — online, by phone, or in person — you agree to the terms below. Please read them before ordering.

1. Products and Measurements

Bulk materials are sold by the cubic yard or by the ton, as listed on each product page. Bagged and baled products are sold by the unit.

Our materials are natural products. Color, texture, size, and moisture content vary between batches and over time, and material may look different in your yard than it does in a photograph or in our display bins. Variation between loads is normal and is not a defect.

Because moisture affects weight, material sold by the ton may cover more or less area depending on conditions at the time of loading.

Any coverage estimates, yardage calculators, or quantity recommendations we provide are estimates only. You are responsible for confirming the quantity you need. We are not responsible for over-ordering or under-ordering.

2. Pricing and Payment

Prices are listed per unit and are subject to change without notice. The price that applies to your order is the price in effect when the order is placed. Applicable South Carolina sales tax is added at checkout.

Online orders must be paid in full at checkout unless another arrangement has been approved in advance. Accounts, net terms, and contractor pricing are available only to customers we have approved in writing.

Delivery fees are calculated separately from material cost and are shown before you complete your order.

3. Pickup

Pickup is available during posted yard hours. Please bring a vehicle or trailer rated for the weight of the material you have purchased.

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring your vehicle or trailer is legally rated and mechanically able to carry the load
  • Securing, tarping, and safely transporting your load once it leaves our property
  • Complying with all applicable weight and transport laws

We reserve the right to refuse to load any vehicle or trailer we believe is unsafe, overloaded, or unsuitable. If we decline to load your vehicle, we will hold your material for pickup with a suitable vehicle or refund your material cost.

Once material has been loaded into your vehicle, transport and the condition of the load are your responsibility.

4. Delivery

Delivery fees. Delivery is charged per trip, based on distance from our yard at 1300 Geer Highway. Our truck holds up to 15 cubic yards of mulch or up to 5 tons of heavier material per load. Orders exceeding one truckload require multiple trips and are charged a delivery fee for each trip.

Online orders are delivered one material per load unless we have arranged otherwise with you by phone.

Scheduling. Delivery dates are scheduled, not guaranteed. Weather, road conditions, equipment issues, and route changes may require rescheduling. We will contact you if your delivery date changes.

Site access is your responsibility. Before your delivery, please confirm that:

  • The delivery site is accessible to a loaded dump truck
  • The dump location is clearly marked or clearly described in your order
  • Overhead branches, wires, gates, and turns allow safe truck access
  • Vehicles, equipment, and obstructions have been moved
  • Pets and children will be kept clear of the delivery area

You do not need to be present, but if you are not, we will deliver to the location specified in your order and that delivery is final. If no dump location is specified and no one is available to direct us, our driver will place the material in the safest reasonable location at his discretion.

Failed deliveries. If we arrive and cannot safely complete the delivery — because of blocked access, an unsafe site, an incorrect address, or an unreachable customer — a redelivery fee equal to the original delivery fee applies. Material cost is not refunded for a failed delivery attempt.

Property damage. Loaded dump trucks are extremely heavy. Driving onto driveways, parking areas, lawns, and other surfaces carries a genuine risk of cracking, rutting, staining, or otherwise damaging them, and of damaging what lies beneath — including septic systems, drain fields, irrigation lines, underground utilities, and buried tanks.

When you request delivery onto or across any surface other than a public road, you accept that risk. Travelers Rest Mulch is not responsible for damage to driveways, curbs, sidewalks, lawns, landscaping, irrigation, septic systems, underground utilities, or other property resulting from delivery to a location you have requested or approved.

If you are concerned about your driveway or your yard, tell us before delivery. We will do our best to accommodate an alternate dump location, or you can arrange pickup instead.

Dyed mulch. Dyed products may stain concrete, pavers, and other hard surfaces, particularly when wet. Please plan your dump location accordingly. We are not responsible for staining.

5. Changes, Cancellations, and Returns

You may change or cancel an order at no charge before it has been loaded or dispatched. Please call us as early as possible.

Once material has been loaded for pickup or dispatched for delivery, the order cannot be cancelled.

Bulk material is non-returnable and non-refundable once it has been loaded or delivered. We cannot resell material that has left our yard.

If there is a problem with your order — wrong product, wrong quantity, or a quality concern — contact us within 48 hours of pickup or delivery and we will work with you to make it right. Please do not spread or install material you believe is incorrect; we cannot evaluate a claim on material that has already been installed.

6. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, including for pricing errors, product availability, suspected fraud, unsafe site conditions, or abusive conduct toward our staff. If we cancel an order, we will refund it in full.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South Carolina law, Travelers Rest Mulch's total liability for any claim arising out of an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits, project delays, or costs of removing or replacing installed material.

Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any dispute arising from an order will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Greenville County, South Carolina.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on our website at the time you place your order is the version that applies.
